Once you’ve grabbed your selections from the best weed shop in Shoreline, it’s time to check out the best local parks.  Below is a list of the best Shoreline Parks to enjoy while high.

Carkeek Park

For a diverse range of trails and elevation changes, check out Carkeek Park in Greenwood. The park has 220 acres of diverse wetlands, meadows, forests and creeks.

Featuring extraordinary views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains, this park is one of the perfect vantage points from which to explore the Seattle water shed.

With multiple locations to park depending on your plans, you could choose to park at the very top near the information center and hike down checking out the salmon pool on your way. This way offers the most exercise and best views of the park.

Cross the bridge at the bottom for access to a rocky pacific northwestern beach. This is a great spot to find some hermit crabs and shells and make some great memories. Take off the headphones for this one and enjoy the sound of the waves. Pets are welcome throughout the park, however not on the beach.

Hamlin Park

The recently saved Hamlin Park makes the list as one of the smallest but one of the most serene and beautiful parks. When it comes to old growth style walking trails in the middle of suburban north Seattle, it is harder to do better than Hamlin Park.

There are miles of winding trails each which shows a different perspective of the park and it’s easy to find yourself turned around, so snapping a picture of the map is a good idea before you set out.

Don’t worry about getting lost, however, the park is surrounded on all sides by a nice residential neighborhood, so it’s easy to find your way back to the main road and entrance of the park if you do get turned around. Some of the most beautiful features of the park are going to be the downed trees as well as the wildlife which make their homes within them. It is wonderful to see such a selection of western squirrels, pileated woodpecker‘s and other local wildlife.

Richmond Beach

Last and certainly not least is Richmond Beach Salt Water Park. Richmond Beach is three tiered and built into the side of a hill. This allows for beautiful views regardless of where you park. There are stairs and public exercise equipment for working out, as well as a beautiful look out terrace with panoramic views of Puget Sound and benches for relaxing at he highest edge of the park.

Reaching the bottom of the hill at Richmond Beach allows you to cross the bridge down to the water where there is a lovely sandy beach dotted with shells, dogs and handmade driftwood castles.

The park has some of the the most diverse changes in elevations. If you’re looking for a serious workout, the set of stairs at the end of the park will help you burn some calories for that munchie attack later. There’s even a counter at the top the stairs to help you gauge your workout.
